About the Lecture

It’s 2021 and the perspectives on digital health could not be more different: On the one hand, governments, academia, and investors are devoting enormous resources and considerable effort to digital health. Media headlines and claims by research papers make it sound like digital health is already part of our everyday lives and on its way to revolutionizing our healthcare system. On the other hand, if one talks to patients with chronic diseases or their physicians, rarely anyone is using digital health tools as part of their daily disease management. For many, digital health is limited to counting steps, years of attempts to introduce electronic patient records, and data privacy scandals. In this talk, Peter will share his perspective on why digital health has not (yet) lived up to its expectations by reflecting on the challenges Resmonics has encountered in bringing AI-based digital health technology from bench to the bedsides of patients with respiratory diseases.
