Scale-IT-up 2022: Call for Papers on Scaling-Up Health-IT

The workshop is held in conjunction with the 15th International Joint Conference on Biomedical Engineering Systems and Technologies – BIOSTEC 2022, 09 – 11 February, 2022 – Online Conference (https://biostec.scitevents.org/Home.aspx)

Scope
Healthcare delivery undergoes a rapid change from traditional processes towards the use of digital health interventions and personalized medicine. On the one side, hospitals and health care providers introduce hospital information systems, electronic health records and telemedicine solutions for more efficient workflows within and beyond institutions. On the other side, patients may choose between a wide range of digital health applications provided by wearables and mobile phone applications supporting their self-management, health and well-being.

However, the question of how sustainable digital health implementation and diffusion can be successfully reached is not sufficiently solved yet. Our workshop seeks for submissions dealing with this question and especially the diffusion and adoption of digital health innovations. We also invite digital health innovations on an early stage of research that are challenging the scaling-up issue. We welcome research and theory papers as well as case studies and best practice examples. A particular focus is given on finding measures to ensure the actual implementation of innovative solutions. The workshop includes paper presentations, invited talks and open workshop parts for discussing innovative topics.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Innovative and implemented (telemedical) care models to mitigate the demographic impact on the health care system
  • Implementation strategies or models for localizing and tailoring of digital health applications
  • Implementation research or experience from implementation of digital health innovations
  • Augmenting traditional healthcare scenarios by digital health innovations as for example that reduce the gap in care or information some patient groups are facing
  • Transformation of traditional care processes by the use of information and communication technologies, e.g. successful intra- and interorganizational implementation of health information systems, electronic health records, or telemedicine/eHealth applications
  • Dissemination and adoption strategies for digital innovations
  • Health behavior change through the use of digital health interventions
