Keynote by Prof. Dr. Lucas Spierer on his Entrepreneurial Journey at Neuria DTx, 5 April 2024
Friday, 5 April 2024, 8.15 am CET, Zoom
Prof. Dr. Lucas Spierer is Head of the Laboratory for Neurorehabilitation Science, Medicine Section, University & Hospital of Fribourg and Founder & CSO at Neuria. Dr. Spierer obtained his PhD in clinical neuroscience in 2008 from CHUV and the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne. He then established his research group at the Medicine Section of the University of Fribourg. His research focuses on the human brain ‘metaplasticity’, i.e. factors modulating the expression of training-induced brain plasticity. Together with his team, he develops interventions for enhancing cognition in healthy individuals and the recovery of brain functions in stroke and degenerative neurologic patients. In 2021, Dr. Spierer founded Neuria, a spinoff of his research, to put on the market his latest discovery of new digital remediation approaches to modulate the brain reward system to reduce cravings and consumption of unhealthy products.
In his keynote, Dr. Spierer will give an overview of the digital therapeutics developed at Neuria and tell us more about lessons learned and challenges on his entrepreneurial journey.
