About Wai Sze Chan
Dr. Wai Sze Chan is Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Hong Kong. She directs the Sleep, Self-Regulation, and Health (SLASH) Research Laboratory. Dr. Chan received her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Indiana University Bloomington, USA and completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Missouri Columbia, USA. She held an Assistant Professor appointment at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, USA before returning to Hong Kong. As a clinical scientist, Dr. Chan conducts both basic science research and clinical research. One line of her research focuses on understanding how sleep affects self-regulation processes in the context of overeating and binge-eating. This line of research has been published in the International Journal of Eating Disorders, the International Journal of Obesity, and the Journal of Sleep Research, etc. Her clinical research focuses on understanding how best to adapt evidence-based health interventions to different populations and she has published this work in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, Sleep Medicine, Health Psychology, etc. Dr. Chan is running several studies on developing and testing digital health interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia and intensive lifestyle intervention, using the MobileCoach platform. She has a growing research interest in implementation science and digital health.

About the Lecture
This talk will focus on an ongoing clinical trial of digital cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (dCBTi) for adults. The presentation will begin with an introduction of CBTi the rationale and procedures for digital adaptation, followed by discussions on the challenges encountered during the implementation of CBTi and the different implementation strategies that may be evaluated in the ongoing research.
