Second-wave digital therapeutics are mobile technologies that allow people to access behavioral and mental health strategies through the internet, smartphones, or therapeutic video games. These tools have grown exponentially over the past decade, and it can be confusing for consumers and clinicians to know what is effective and how to use those tools in practice. In this chapter, we will discuss the evidence base for second-wave digital therapeutics, their benefits and challenges, and how to find and incorporate these tools into clinical practice.
