We’re back from a refreshing Doctoral Seminar!
From 7 to 8 June, many of our research team enjoyed a fun doctoral seminar at the picturesque hotel Schloss Wartegg in Rorschach.
Over the course of two days, our researchers presented updates on their projects, received valuable feedback, and got to know each other better over meals. Thanks to everyone who presented their work – from tentative first research outlines from new PhD students, to seasoned PhD researchers presenting their research results. The topics discussed were highly varied and interesting, touching on topics such as subclinical depression, paediatric asthma, car-based sensing and support solutions, shared mobility, and business models for digital platforms.
A big thank you to our experts who shared advice, asked important questions, and offered encouragement. Prof. Dr. Elgar Fleisch, Prof. Dr. Thorsten Staake, Prof. Dr. Felix Wortmann, Dr. Filipe Barata, and Dr. Wolfgang Bronner, it was great to have you with us!
Schloss Wartegg offered us a lot, including a beautifully restored historic building and romantic gardens on the shores of Lake Constance. We were also spoiled to enjoy stunning views of the lake from our meeting room! Despite the cold temperatures, some brave souls went for a dip in lake Constance.
Hopefully everyone is now feeling refreshed and motivated to continue working on their research projects. We are already looking forward to a next Doctoral Seminar in November, which will be hosted by Prof. Dr. Staake‘s research group a the University of Bamberg!
