A warm welcome to Computer Science student Lola Ackermann at MED-HSG
We are pleased to welcome Lola Ackermann as a new student research assistant at School of Medicine, University of St.Gallen (HSG). Lola is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at HSG. Through her studies, she gained a solid foundation in various programming languages and core topics within Computer Science, including algorithms, mathematics, computer systems and networks, software engineering, and more.
Despite being only 18 years old and early in her professional journey, Lola has already begun to gain practical experience. This summer, she completed an internship at Healthinal in Rapperswil, a firm that specializes in modern healthcare solutions. The skills she acquired there will greatly benefit her work with us.
In close collaboration with our CDHI CORE on Digital Biomarkers in Metabolic Health, led by Dr. Mia Jovanova, and Prof. Dr. med. Michael Brändle from the Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen, KSSG, Lola will contribute to a pilot project Digital Diabetes Management Score to explore how general practitioners can improve the management of type-2 diabetes in Switzerland with the help of a digital version of the diabetes management score [1].
