A warm welcome to Ceren Polat!

Please join us in welcoming Ceren Polat to the Centre for Digital Health Interventions!

Ceren completed her bachelor’s degree on Philosophy as well as Media and Visual Arts (double major) from Koç University, İstanbul with Summa Cumme Laude honors.

She holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy with a specialization in AI ethics and AI’s impact on vulnerable populations. Her previous research examined anthropocentric bias in AI and its ethical implications, particularly through the lens of care ethics.

Ceren recently joined the Institute of Biomedical Ethics and History of Medicine (IBME) at the University of Zurich as a PhD candidate to work on the project “Ethics of Voice Assistants in Dementia Care” which explores how voice-based interventions can support individuals with early dementia while addressing critical ethical considerations such as autonomy, privacy, and trust.

She also recently joined the PRECIOUS project in which her primary focus will be on helping researchers/users of PRECIOUS to know which ethics templates to fill out and to which ethics commission to send it.

Welcome Ceren!
