We are happy to welcome Dr. Vanessa Vallesi at the Institute for Implementation Science in Health Care (Team Digital Health Interventions), University of Zurich, and the Centre for Digital Health Interventions, where she will support the work on the University Medicine Zurich (UMZH) technology initiative PRECIOUS, a Design and Trial Service for Precision Digital Therapeutics and the UZH Digital Society Initiative ELIAS, an Agentic Interview Service.

Vanessa holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Zurich and obtained her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Bern in 2025. During her doctoral work, she was awarded a Doc.Mobility fellowship by the University of Bern, which enabled a year of research on the neuroimaging of movement disorders at the Paris Brain Institute. She subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bern / Inselspital, where she focused on the characterization of rare diseases, primarily through advanced neuroimaging methods, integrating clinical, neuropsychological, and neuroimaging correlates to describe complex and heterogeneous disorders.

Vanessa is excited to join Prof. Dr. Tobias Kowatsch‘s team and turn her research experience toward the design and implementation of precision digital therapeutics through PRECIOUS and ELIAS.
