We are very happy to welcome Madeleine Soukup as a new Research Assistant at the Institute for Implementation Science in Health Care at the University of Zurich. Madeleine will support the team across the UMZH PRECIOUS and DSI ELIAS projects, contributing to research at the intersection of digital health, human-computer interaction, and emerging technologies.

Madeleine is currently completing her Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of Zurich, where she specializes in Human-Centered Computing with a minor in Business Administration. She previously obtained her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Tübingen with a focus on Cognitive Science. During her studies, she has gained experience in software development, user-centered design, data analysis, and the development and evaluation of digital health technologies.

Her recent work has focused particularly on menstrual health and digital health applications. As part of the CyMe project at CDHI, she contributed to the design and development of a menstrual cycle and sports tracking application for everyday athletes, and presented those results at various events and as a demo paper at the AlpCHI 2026 conference. Her master’s thesis investigates how health insights can be presented in menstrual tracking applications in a way that provides insightful information without creating excessive cognitive load.

Alongside her research activities, Madeleine has been actively involved in university committees and student representation at the University of Zurich. She is particularly interested in digital health, women’s health, responsible AI, and the translation of research into practical and accessible health solutions. She is always happy to exchange ideas and collaborate on projects related to these topics.
