A warm welcome to our new PRECIOUS team member Imene Kolli

Imene Kolli is joining the Chair for Digital Health Interventions (Prof. Dr. Tobias Kowatsch) at the University of Zurich’s Institute for Implementation Science in Health Care as a Software Engineer – Machine Learning. She will contribute to the PRECIOUS project, including the development of the Digital Ethics and Regulatory Assistant, where she focuses on designing and deploying reliable, regulation-aware AI systems to support ethical and evidence-based decision-making in digital health.

Previously, Imene worked as an NLP Engineer at the Department of Banking and Finance at the University of Zurich, where she developed advanced AI systems for sustainable finance. Her work includes building large-scale document intelligence pipelines for corporate climate policy engagement prediction and climate policy lobbying detection. Her technical expertise lies in information retrieval, large-scale document understanding, and LLM-based reasoning systems. She has extensive experience in constructing end-to-end machine learning pipelines with a particular focus on robust model validation and scalable system design.

Imene holds a Master’s degree in Data Science from TU Dortmund University. She previously gained industry experience at Amazon where she developed anomaly detection models for transportation risk, and at NIO, where she worked on voice-based intelligent driving and in-car assistant systems, focusing on speech understanding and real-time decision support.
