About the Lecture
The global rise of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) has made sustainable lifestyle changes more critical than ever. With lifestyle behaviours playing a pivotal role in disease prevention and management, countries are increasingly recognising the need for innovative solutions that extend beyond traditional clinical consultations. In this talk, I will explore how digital health, particularly mobile health (mHealth) apps offering personalised, context-sensitive coaching, can bridge this gap. Drawing on insights from behavioural science and advances in technologies such as just-in-time adaptive interventions (JITAIs) and large language model (LLM) conversational agents, I will illustrate how digital tools can deliver timely, tailored support that empowers individuals to achieve and maintain healthier lifestyles, offering a scalable pathway to addressing the NCD epidemic.
