Please join us in congratulating Dr. Marcia Nißen on her appointment as Scientific Director of the Centre for Digital Health Interventions, effective August 1st, 2025.

Dr. Nißen currently serves as CDHI Core Director for Female Health, where she has conducted research at the intersection of patient engagement, gender medicine, and healthcare chatbots. Her work reflects a deep commitment to inclusive, equitable, and evidence-based digital health innovation, and she brings a talent for collaboration across disciplines.

She holds a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from ETH Zurich, as well as an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management with a specialisation in Medical Engineering and Healthcare Management from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

Dr. Nißen succeeds Prof. Tobias Kowatsch, and we are grateful for his continued leadership and contributions to the CDHI.  Prof. Kowatsch will remain active with the CDHI in his role as Co-Chair and Core Director for the DHI Core.
